Ebba Tove Elsa Nilsson , better known as Tove Lo , is a Swedish singer, songwriter and instrumentalist. She was born in Stockholm on October 29, 1987. The daughter of a psychologist and a businessman, she became known worldwide with the single ” Habits (Stay High) “, after the release of the remix ” Stay High “, made by the hip-hop production duo Hippie Sabotage .

Music has always been present in Tove ‘s life . She began singing and composing at the age of 13, and studied at Rytmus Musikergymnasiet , the largest music school in Stockholm . In her teens, she continued to compose her own songs, even recording them, but she didn’t show them to anyone. Soon after, she became the lead singer of a band formed by her and five other friends, called Tremblebee . Many people encouraged her to release her songs, and she decided to follow their advice. She joined a local record label, where she began writing songs for other artists, such as Girls Aloud and The Saturdays .

In 2012, she decided to officially release her first debut song: “ Love Ballad ”. Then, at the end of 2013, she released the track “ Habits (Stay High) ”, which secured her a deal with Universal Music Group, being linked to its subsidiary Island Records , in Europe. After releasing her 2 debut songs, the Swedish singer decided to release her 3rd song: “ Out of Mind ”, along with her first EP, ‘ Truth Serum ’, released on March 3, 2014, which featured the tracks “ Habits ”, “ Out Of Mind ”, “ Not On Drugs ” and “ Paradise ”. Collaborations with Seven Lions, on the track “ Strangers ” also helped in its success.

In November 2014, Tove Lo was invited by Katy Perry to be the opening act for her Prismatic World Tour , which ran through November and December in Oceania. Soon after, she discovered that she had cysts on her vocal cords, which could harm her and even make her stop singing. Fortunately, the singer underwent surgery to remove the cysts and made a great recovery, where she continued to promote her album.
